Return of the BLACK PANTHER with Massamba Diop + OAKLAND RHYTHM
Grammy and Oscar Winning Percussionist Returns!
Senegalese percussionist MASSAMBA DIOP has performed with African superstar Baaba Maal for over 30 years, and has shared the stage with musical icons James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and Peter Gabriel. However, Massamba is perhaps best known for his performance as the principal "tama" (talking drum) player in the Marvel blockbuster films Black Panther (2018) and Wakanda Forever (2022), for which Massamba received both Grammy and Oscar awards.
For this epic musical event, Massamba is joined by the All-Star percussion/dance/voice ensemble OAKLAND RHYTHM, fresh off it's sold-out April, 2023 performance. This show will feature Massamba's original material, reworkings of Black Panther classics, and groove-heavy compositions by OAKLAND RHYTHM.
